The Southport girls track & field team took on Perry Meridian and Franklin Central in an April 8 triangular meet featuring Conference Indiana foes. The Cardinals scored 50 points and placed second, with Perry Meridian (81) winning and Franklin Central (36) taking third.
“I thought it was a very good effort following Spring Break, and I left thinking and believing we endeavored to fight and do our best,”
said Southport coach Nathan Fishel. “We just came up short.”
First-place finishers for Southport were the 4×100 meter relay team of Saymah Kollison, Andrica Higginson, Erika Satterthwaite, and Natalie Lay, as well as Saymah Kollison (100-meter hurdles), Allison Zorman (800-meter run), and Natalie Lay (300 hurdles).
