Perry
Meridian is the face of wrestling in Conference Indiana. When the Falcons are
on top of their game, they are one of the faces of wrestling in all of Indiana.
Folks, they are definitely on top of their game. Perry Meridian advanced 12 wrestlers
through regional action to next week’s semi-state round of the individual state
tourney. In the process, the Falcons crowned five Regional Champions.
The
remaining seven teams in Conference Indiana qualified a total of 30 wrestlers
for action next week. In the Bloomington Regional, Columbus North and
Bloomington South each advanced seven wrestlers, while Bloomington North pushed
four through to the next round. Columbus crowned three champions while each of
the Bloomington schools took two titles.
Elsewhere,
Lawrence Central advanced five wrestlers through the Pendleton heights
Regional. Pike advanced three through the Perry Meridian Regional, and both Franklin
Central and Southport pushed two wrestlers through that same location. Lawrence
Central, Pike, and Southport each crowned one champion.
Here is a
look at all of the Conference Indiana wrestlers to claim regional
championships.
